Documentation requirements for travel

For travel within the Mercosur region (Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile and Paraguay):
- Valid identity card or passport.

For travel to other countries:
- Valid passport.
- Valid visa if the destination country requires it.



Required documents for travel with minors (under 18)

Minor travelling with both his parents
- Marriage Licence with the appropriate child registration or minor’s Birth Certificate


Minor travelling with one of his parents
1. Minor travelling with a foreign passport (Uruguayan or resident)
- Valid passport (with valid, appropriate visa)
- “Permiso de Menor” (Parental consent) signed by the parent not travelling with the minor
2. Minor travelling with a Uruguayan identity card or passport
a) If travel is to Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile or Paraguay:
- Valid Uruguayan identity card
- “Permiso de menor” (Parental consent) signed by the parent not travelling with the minor
b) If travel is to other countries:
- Valid passport (with valid, appropriate visa)
- “Permiso de menor” (Parental consent) signed by the parent not travelling with the minor


Minor travelling without his/her parents *
a) If travel is to Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile or Paraguay:
- Valid passport
- “Permiso de menor” (Parental consent) signed by both parents
b) If travel is to other countries:
- Valid passport (with valid, appropriate visa)
- “Permiso de menor” (Parental consent) signed by both parents
2. Menor viajando con cédula o pasaporte uruguayo
a) If travel is to Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile or Paraguay:
- Valid identity card or passport
“Permiso de menor” (Parental consent) signed by both parents
For travel to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay: parents must state on the “Permiso de Menor” (Parental consent) request the full name and identity document of the person accompanying the minor, or in case he/she travelling alone, the ones of the person who is collecting him/her travelling alone, the ones of the person who is collecting him/her.
b) If travel is to other countries:
- Valid passport (with valid, appropriate visa)
- “Permiso de menor” (Parental consent) signed by both parents.



* UNACCOMPANIED MINOR SERVICE

Pluna offers a special service for unaccompanied minors from 5-17 years of age. For the safety of your children, our crew will ensure that they are boarded onto the aircraft, introduced to the flight attendant, chaperoned and collected by the appropriate person at their final destination.
This service is mandatory for children under 11 and may be paid either at the moment of ticketing or check-in.

PERMISO DE MENOR (PARENTAL CONSENT)

The “Permiso de menor” (Parental consent) is issued by the Dirección Nacional de Migración (DNM). It is valid for a year, unless the parents established a shorter time limit. For more information regarding the application for a “Permiso de menor”, visit:

BIRTH CERTIFICATE

People interested in requesting a birth certificate may go to the Registro de Estado Civil, Uruguay 933, Montevideo, between 9:15 and 16:30. It costs $27 and takes two days to be delivered. For more information visit:

DIPLOMATIC
